“Spencer Dean” was a pseudonym for Prentice Winchell (1895-1976). The Frightened Fingers was the first novel in his nine-book “Don Cadee” series of store detective novels. He also wrote under the pseudonyms Jay de Bekker, Dexter St. Clair, Grant Stockbridge and Stewart Sterling.
